Not sure if this is possible, but story so far. The prop has a 30mm beneteau shaft anode, normally lucky to get 5 months out of it. After adding the shaft eliminator and extra anode put into water at mooring , this has extended to nearly 12 months. Literally when out for annual polish etc, only a small blob of the anode left. As I only take the boat once a year for couple of weeks I reckon if it was possible to upgrade to the larger 35mm anode, longer life would result. I noticed the prop nut being composite bronze compared to the larger one for the 35mm would have different thread size. Has anyone done this, thought maybe thread insert in stainless steel but not sure if would be strong enough, or keep old nut and make up mould to increase size of the old anode? If could be done I would be at least content that enough anode left till next lift out. Any ideas appreciated, regards William.
