Cutlass Bearing retaining screws

Hi
I need to replace the cutlass bearing on my 230, it has the top hat rubber type fitted, I am going to replace with brass shelled type, does anybody know were the retaing screws are, are they glassed over?, I can see what look like two lumps horizontal either side of the shaft tube, have had a bit of a dig but cant see any screws.
